Chinese Tide” is a reality show co-produced by Kudou Music and Youku, which gathers top musicians and performers from all circles and fields of Chinese music around the world, and creatively integrates Chinese elements and trendy music. The program covers a variety of music elements such as electro music, Chinese style, pop, folk music, ballad, rap, opera, rock, etc., showing the unique charm of national wave music.

In the fifth and sixth installments of “Chinese Tidal Music”, Dazhang Wei, Mao Yiqian, Xue Zhiqian, Zhang Liangying and Zhang Yadong lead the contestants to open the national tide concert, and use their strength to interpret the charm of national tide music.

The lighting for the fifth and sixth installments was designed by Shangwei Visuals and produced by Beijing Hongyi Production Team. Lighting design team around the “national tide” theme constantly strive for innovation, bold breakthrough conventional visual framework. Chinese style, cross-border style and trend style are the design ideas and visual pursuit of the lighting team for this concert.

Interpretation of “National Wave” with light

During the rehearsal period, how to visualize the lighting and music together is the subject that accompanies this concert. The team of Shangwei even strives to visualize the “national wave”, using lighting details to portray the visual of each scene in the characters, program scenes and spatial relationships. Through the control of color tone, collocation and arrangement of lamps and lanterns, the contrast of light, different lamps and lanterns, each taking advantage of their own strengths, the lighting, stage, the picture perfectly integrated, highlighting the space in the “cross-border” sense. Because of this, the lighting of this concert is very contrasting and trendy.

“Clean” is the main theme of the concert lighting design, according to the different songs to present different lighting design. For example, some programs need to rely on lighting to complete the visual impact, while some need to use lighting to highlight the sense of meaning. Therefore, the lighting effects are fast, slow, dynamic and static, but the most crucial thing is that the visual presentation of each song in the picture is very clean.

Considering the artists' respective positions and walking amplitude on the stage, in order to present the ideal picture and character light and portray the character relationship on the stage more ornamental, the lighting team added 6 new light tracing heads in the design of the surface light, through the handle, as well as the parameters of the fine-tuning to be more detailed, accurate, real-time portrayal of the different characters on the stage through a variety of perspectives. In addition to the dozens of CKC V8Pro high-definition moving head cutting lights as the surface light, the lighting in many programs also did some white space, so that the program as a whole has a sense of hierarchy.
